2-on-2 Revolution: Rondo's Rules

Teamwork matters, and it's never more apparent than in the Red Bull 2-on-2 Revolution tournament.

The tournament stops in five cities—Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.—over five summer weekends. Starting with 32 teams in each city, the competition is single-elimination 2-on-2 basketball, and the winners receive $2,000 in cash.

In the tournament, teams play by "Rajon Rondo’s rules"  just to add a twist. Here's the scoring system:

  • 3 points for dunking on an opponent’s head
  • 3 points for blocking a dunk or pinning a shot to the backboard
  • 3 points for making a defender fall
  • 3 points for stripping the ball from the offensive player

In Boston, locals Rob Adams and Jared Hite took home the cash, outscoring opponents by 61 points over five games, while in New York, Kenny Satterfield switched teammates several times before playing with former Iona star Nakiea Miller. They completely dominated the competition with their ability to score inside and outside.
