It’s been nearly one month to the day, but we just learned that STACK’s own Matt Siracusa and his article featuring the Alabama Crimson Tide football off-season workout program [check out the article and 15-week program] were highlighted in Bruce Feldman’s ESPN Insider blog back in June.

The entry, “Heavy lifting’s best starts with the ‘Horns,” ranks the top 10 collegiate weight rooms in the country based on votes by NFL scouts, college administrators and “some well-traveled coaches,” writes Feldman. The Tide, featured in STACK’s Summer Training Guide, rolled in at the number-four spot.

They’ve got the list; STACK has the elite athletes going to work in those first-class facilities. Here’s an inside look at some of the training facilities that made the list:

LSU Tigers, No. 2: “One source praised it for the graphics and coloring of the complex, talking about the great energy of the facility,” writes Feldman. [Tigers strength guru Tom Moffitt gives a behind-the-scenes video tour of the “The Complex.” Also, learn how the team trains in the off-season.]

Nebraska Cornhuskers, No. 3: “Spacious. Great equipment. Great flow, from the cardio area to the Olympic area.” Ndamukong Suh, the second selection of the 2010 Draft, donated $2 million to the Huskers’ program. [The Detroit Lions’ defensive playmaker shows off his home-away-from-home—the Osborne Athletic Center—on the Lincoln campus.]

Oklahoma Sooners, No. 5: “Former OU star Roy Williams donated to his alma mater for a football-only training center.” [Check out video of the Barry Switzer Center, named after OU’s all-time winningest coach.]

Florida Gators, No. 6: “The Gators’ 25,000-square foot complex is as big as any, and includes a 50-yard turf area.” [Strength and conditioning coordinator Steve Orris shows STACK where the best athletes get better.]
