Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez throws down a protein-packed smoothie recipe, complete with the following ingredients:

  • Strawberries
  • Banana
  • Acai berry juice
  • All-Pro Science 100% whey protein
  • Ice

Watching Tony blend it up in the kitchen, you realize the major role nutrition plays in his All-Pro Diet [learn more about Gonzalez's diet on STACK TV]. Under the guidance of sports nutritionist Mitzi Dulan, the Diet was created to support strength and stamina and improve cognitive skills, according to allproscience.com. Tony developed the All-Pro Science [APS] supplement line as a way to make available natural supplements—made up of 100 percent grass-fed protein and free of artificial flavors—synthetics and hormones. It’s all about “putting good stuff into your body,” he says.

Research suggests that, compared to other proteins, whey is most effective for repairing exercise-induced muscle damage. Your body rapidly absorbs whey, the highest quality natural protein, making it an excellent source post-training.
