NBA 2K11's Jordan Challenge

September 17, 2010

With its new Jordan Challenge, 2K Sports’ NBA 2K11 is all about reliving the glory days of "His Royal Airness." Gamers will learn whether they can really "be like Mike," or if they need to spend more time on the virtual practice court.

Jordan Challenge

The Challenge highlights ten of MJ’s most incredible NBA performances. Gamers must equal or surpass each performance in order to advance to the next stage of the Jordan legacy.

The Arrival: Jordan becomes a household name during the ’86 Playoffs after putting up 63 points against the Celtics’ original big three—Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish.
Challenge: Score 63 points, shooting 50 percent from the field.

69 Points: Jordan breaks the hearts of Cavalier fans by racking up 69 points to clinch a spot in the '90 Playoffs, leaving Cleveland to wait 20 years to get revenge.

Shootout: “His Royal Airness” squares off against “The Human Highlight Film,” Dominique Wilkins, in a high scoring match-up.
Challenge: Outscore Wilkins while holding him to under 25 points.

Bad Boys: Jordan and the Bulls light up Isiah Thomas and the Detroit Pistons during the '88 playoffs, only to come up short in Game Five of the Eastern Conference Finals. A rivalry is born.
Challenge: Score 47 points.

’91 Finals: Hail the reign of Jordan, when the Bulls knock off Magic and the Lakers to claim the first of MJ’s six championships.
Challenge: Win the series and average 31 ppg, shooting 55 percent from the field.

The Shrug: During the first game of the ’92 Finals, Jordan set the tone early, showcasing his skills against Clyde Drexler and the Portland Trail Blazers.
Challenge: Make six three-pointers while posting 35 points in the first half, and hold Drexler under 20 points.

Double Nickel: Leaving his baseball glove at home, Jordan comes back to basketball with a vengeance,  posting big numbers against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Challenge: Score 55 points, shooting 55 percent from the field.

Father’s Day Victory: The Bulls' second three-peat starts off with a bang, as Jordan claims his fourth Finals MVP award against the once-great Seattle SuperSonics.
Challenge: Grab nine boards, toss in 22 points.

The Flu Game: With the series tied two-all during the '97 Finals against the Jazz, Jordan blows up, scoring 38 points and capping it with a game-winning three—all with a stomach flu.
Challenge: Score 38 points, grab seven rebounds.

Michael’s Last Dance: Jordan nails a clutch shot with less than a minute left to defeat the Jazz and win the ’98 NBA title, earning his sixth championship ring and sixth MVP Finals trophy.
