Approximately 45,000 runners from across the globe flocked to the streets of the Windy City on October 10, for the annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
Participants in the 26.2-mile mayhem had to be at least 16 years of age. However, younger runners got a taste of the experience as part of Nike’s Northside/Southside Challenge, an annual event that brings together 20 boys' and 20 girls' teams from area high schools for a 2.62-mile race across the Chicago Marathon finish line.
