Nike Zoom Kobe VI: Serve Up Your ID

February 3, 2011

Must See Nike Videos

In a previous blog post, we gave you a brief rundown on the Nike Zoom Kobe VI, a low-profile, lightweight kick Kobe Bryant wore during the Lakers vs. Heat game on Christmas Day. Besides being one of the lightest basketball shoes Nike has ever produced, the kick reflects a fierce aesthetic, incorporating design elements from Kobe’s alter ego—the Black Mamba. [Learn about Nike Basketball's upcoming Black Mamba web series here.]

Now you can custom build your own version on nike.com. But before you go all out, review some design tips from Iz Mateo, lead design consultant at Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer in New York City. In the video below, he breaks down performance and design features, and shares customization cues to help you create your own Kobe VIs.
