Get Amped Up With Under Armour Charged Cotton

March 18, 2011

We're willing to bet that out of all your t-shirts, more than half are made of cotton and less than a third are made of performance material. After all, cotton is more comfortable for everyday wear.

But now you can add to your collection a shirt that combines the comfort of cotton with the functional benefits of a moisture-wicking, quick-drying shirt—with Under Armour’s new Charged Cotton line.

The material consists of alternating hydrophilic [moisture-absorbing] and hydrophobic [moisture-repelling] strands, which push the sweat outward upon contact for quick evaporation. Under Armour claims that Charged Cotton dries five times faster than ordinary cotton, yet it offers the same give and stretch as a performance fabric, making it suitable for dynamic movements and other training routines.

Watch how fast the material dries in the video below:

UA athletes who have signed on with the Charged line include New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, U.S. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, track star Monica Hargrove and pro skiers Lindsey Vonn and Bobby Brown [see his commercial below].

The collection includes men's and women’s shirts, shorts and women's capri tights.

Head on over to UnderArmour.com to shop Charged Cotton, which launched March 12.
