Miguel Cabrera has achieved what no other player has done in 45 years. As the American League leader in batting average, home runs and runs batted in a single season, he won Major League Baseball’s Triple Crown.
Cabrera’s crowning achievement is the first since Carl Yastrzemski of the Boston Red Sox won the AL Triple Crown in 1967. He is just the second Detroit Tiger to wear the crown, after Ty Cobb in 1909.
