LA Clippers superstar Blake Griffin has joined the Jordan Brand. Nike announced the dunk master's addition to their team earlier this month. Griffin is the latest in a revamped Jordan Brand line-up, which recently added Russell Westbrook (read the full story about Westbrook joining the Jordan Brand), Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kendall Marshall, Jared Sullinger, and Jeff Taylor. These signings signal the brand's focus on younger players rather than players with established names and fan bases.

"We are thrilled that Blake is joining the brand," said Michael Jordan in a statement. "Blake has captured the essence of what the brand stands for through his style of play and love for the game of basketball. He is an amazing athlete and person who we look forward to working with for many years." (Griffin fan? Check out STACK's Blake Griffin page.)

Terms of the contract were not revealed; however it is believed that Griffin signed a multi-year agreement. During the Clippers' season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies, he sported a pair of cobalt blue Super.Fly sneakers from the Jordan Brand, and he has continued to wear them.

Griffin is the biggest name to join the company since Dwayne Wade left for Chinese competitor Li-Ning (read the full article: Dwyane Wade Is the New Face of Li-Ning). Having been a member of Jordan Brand's All-American team as a teenager, Griffin has a past with the brand. Also, he had already signed an endorsement deal with Nike, Jordan Brand's parent company. In the NBA, he won the Rookie of the Year award in 2011, was elected to the All-Star team in 2011 and 2012, and took home to top prize at the Slam Dunk Championship in 2011 (Watch Griffin's Monster Dunks).
