Get Ready for "The Walking Dead" Mid-Season Premiere This Sunday

The Walking Dead will return on Feb. 10, with the airing of the Season 3 mid-season premiere. The new trend of splitting a season into two separate runs has become an effective marketing tool for networks, giving them time to build hype and grow their audience base.

As part of its hype-building campaign, AMC has not only released an interactive Facebook game, they also plan to air Seasons 1 and 2 in black-and-white to pay homage to the series' comic book origins. Additionally, The Walking Dead creator and Skybound Entertainment founder, Robert Kirkman, has released The Walking Dead video game, an "episodic point-and-click adventure game." The first half of Season 3 was dominated by anticipation for the reunion of long-lost brothers, Merle and Daryl.
