#8 Anthony Davis
Draft Position: 1
Davis’s off-the-court kicks would probably land him first on our list (just check out the kid’s Instagram feed), but his on-court shoes have been somewhat underwhelming. The former Kentcuky Wildcat’s closet is full of Foamposites, Air Jordans and LeBron Xs, yet the only shoe he’s really sported during his rookie campaign has been the Nike Air Max Hyperposite (pictured above). Here’s hoping the Unibrow dives into his massive shoe collection in the second half of the season to spice things up on the court.
Shoes have become one of the most talked-about aspects of the NBA. The new sneaker LeBron or Kobe wears on gameday is almost as big as the game itself. The emphasis on sneakers may ruffle the feathers of basketball purists, but hey, even Larry Bird used to rock special-edition Converse All-Stars.
This year, the rookies are getting in on the shoe bonanza. The young guns were drafted for their skills on the court, but has their shoe game been just as good? As the All-Star break approaches, we rank this year's top 10 drafted rookies by the kicks they've been wearing. We gave major points for variety and creativity. Click through the slideshow to find out which rookie came in at no. 1.
