Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman team up in the upcoming sci-fi flick, Oblivion, to save what's left of the Earth in the aftermath of an alien invasion.

The latest trailer for the futuristic flick recently made its debut, revealing more of the film's back-story. Except for Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) and a few other humans responsible for cleaning up the planet and extracting its remaining valuable resources, all that remains are drones. However, Harper's mundane days of scouring the Earth's barren landscape change dramatically when an aircraft crash lands carrying human survivors.

Among the survivors is Malcolm Beech (Freeman), a rebel leader whose dual mission is to convince Harper he's been misled and to overthrow the aliens with Harper's help. What follows is a war for his allegiance. Add in a woman from his past, played by Olga Kurylenko, and soon Harper is defying orders and questioning everything he once held as truth.

Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on TRON: Legacy, directed the film, which, based on the trailer, will include plenty of impressive stunts and awesome special effects.

Oblivion hits theaters on April 19. But audiences can view it a week earlier when it premieres exclusively on IMAX screens April 12.
