Eve will be releasing her fourth studio album in May. The rapper repped herself and her new album in a recent interview with Billboard, saying she wants to "make people realize why they fell in love with me." (Check out last week's Rap News Rundown.)
Once signed to the infamous Ruff Ryders record label, Eve will release Lip Lock under her own record label, called FTR Music, which will be distributed by SONY/RED. Many fans wonder whether Eve still has it, since it's been over ten years since her last studio album, Eve-Olution.
On October 9, 2012, Eve released her first single, entitled "She Bad Bad." The song had some success on the Internet and a video was released a short time later. Eve has stated that "She Bad Bad" was not the first single but rather a promo. During November, she began a weekly remix entitled "EVEstlin' Tuesdays." Each Tuesday, she released her remix of a popular song. On January 23, Eve released a remix of "She Bad Bad," featuring Pusha T and Juicy J.
On February 23, Eve released her first official single, entitled "Make It Out This Town," featuring Cobra Starship and Gabe Saporta. No track list has yet been confirmed for the album. And the release date of May 14 may not be set in stone.
Eve burst onto the scene in the 1990's with a hardcore image reflecting the grimy streets of the East Coast. Her fans will have to wait a few more months for Lip Lock to see if Eve can pick up where she left off.
