This past week, Snoop Lion tackled homophobia in hip-hop, Kid Cudi parted ways with G.O.O.D. Music, and Ray J took another stab at relevancy with a thinly veiled ode to his relationship with Kim Kardashian.

Snoop Lion Doubts Hip-Hop Would Embrace a Gay Rapper

Despite the acceptance of gay singer Frank Ocean by the music world, West Coast veteran Snoop Lion doesn't think the hip-hop game will be open an openly gay rapper any time soon. During an interview with Guardian UK, Snoop compared rappers to a football team, opining that the majority would be uncomfortable. "It's acceptable in the singing world, but in the rap world, I don't know if it will ever be acceptable, because rap is so masculine," noted the rapper.

He was quick to point out that he personally has no issue with homosexuals. "I don't have a problem with gay people," he added. "I got some gay homies."

Kid Cudi Leaves G.O.O.D. Music

During an interview with L.A.'s Power 106 last week, Kid Cudi announced his decision to cut ties with G.O.O.D. Music. According to the rapper, it was "just business" and he intends to continue working with several of the MCs currently on his former label's roster in the future.

Thus far, Big Sean is the only person from G.O.O.D. Music to publicly react. During an interview, the Detroit MC admitted to not knowing about the decision until it reached the Internet. But he was quick to dispel rumors that his recent track, "Switch Up," is a dis track, calling it ironic in light of recent events and nothing more.

In other news, Kid Cudi's third studio album, Indicud, is slated to hit shelves April 23. An early leak of the project revealed collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Michael Bolton and A$AP Rocky.

Ray J Releases New Song, "I Hit It First"

Ray J released a new song over the weekend, which in itself is not really newsworthy. What is catching attention is the subject of the track. Entitled "I Hit It First," it seemingly talks about his former flame, reality star Kim Kardashian, even throwing a few nods toward her ex-beau Reggie Bush and current boyfriend Kanye West.

Ray J denied intending to insult the star with the song. "It's just a record, it's putting a hundred on fifty," he explained during an interview with Hot 97. "It's about the concept...I'm not trying to create a war, it's all love; we're doing music."
