Watch the New ‘Elysium’ Trailer
The first trailer for futuristic sci-fi thriller Elysium has arrived.
The movie takes place in 2154. There are two classes of people: the Haves, who exist comfortably on a man-made space station called Elysium, and the Have-Nots, who are left to dwell on a desolated and crime-ridden Earth. Though equality gets talked about often, it doesn’t seem possible until Have-Not Max (Matt Damon) takes on a mission to get into Elysium. He has own reasons, but he’s the only hope humans stuck on Earth have for equality and survival. To succeed, he’ll have to get past Elysium Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her minions.
Director Neill Blomkamp, who was behind 2009’s sleeper hit District 9, helms the film. Like he did in District 9, he plans to defy expectations and tackle social issues through a science fiction story.
Elysium lands in theaters Aug. 9. If the trailer leaves you wanting more of the good life found on the space station, head over to armadyne.net, where you can view the technological advances your money could purchase in this fictional world.
