The Nintendo Wii U gaming console was released in North America last November with just 29 game titles. Although there have been a few third-party hits, such as Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013, fans have grown restless waiting for new games. The high level of consumer expectation for the timely release of new Wii U titles was even discussed in Nintendo's recently released financial reports.

Fortunately, Nintendo seems finally to be rolling out some of its own games, with two big titles, Game & Wario and Pikmin 3, getting summer North American releases.

The U.S. release date for Game & Wario is June 23, confirmed by a recent Nintendo of America tweet. Joystiq reports that this release date was confirmed to them directly by Nintendo, and that the game will retail for $39.99. This price represents a departure from Nintendo's usual $50 to $60 price point for new game titles.

Nintendo of America also recently confirmed via Twitter that Pikmin 3 will release in the United States on Aug. 4.
