WWE and 2K Games have announced that fans who pre-order the forthcoming WWE 2K14 video game will receive an exclusive bonus: The Ultimate Warrior as a playable character.

The Ultimate Warrior is one of most popular and beloved wrestlers in the history of the sport. Warrior had his best run in the WWE in the late 80's and early 90's. He held the WWF Intercontinental Championship on two separate occasions and the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. His most famous feat was his win over The Hulkster in what was dubbed "The Ultimate Challenge," a title-for-title match. Warrior held the Intercontinental title at the time and became a dual-reigning champion when he took the World title from Hulk Hogan.

Throughout the 1990's and into the 2000's, Warrior had a roller coaster relationship with the WWE. However, over the past few years, the two parties have begun to inch closer together, with Warrior appearing in the Legends of WrestleMania video game, released in 2009, and then again in WWE All-Stars in 2011. Fans can only hope that Warrior and the WWE will stay on the same page in the future, as Warrior certainly deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame based on all of his accomplishments in the WWE.

WWE 2K14 features many more wrestling legends among with the current crop of WWE wrestlers. Besides Warrior, other legends confirmed as playable in the game include The Rock, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "The Heartbreak Kid," Shawn Michaels.

Fans have the opportunity to design an alternate cover for the game. Tweet your entries using the hashtag #WWE2K14Cover before the deadline of midnight on July 23, 2013 in the United States. The winner and runner-up will receive free copies of the game.

WWE 2K14 is scheduled for an Oct. 29 release in North America.
