Tim Tebow Is an Avocado Addict

Tim Tebow, former NFL quarterback turned MLB hopeful, has one of the most unique diets in sports.

In 2017, Tebow revealed to GQ that he was on a ketogenic diet. In a nutshell, a ketogenic diet involvesĀ cutting down your carbohydrate intake to a negligible level, forcing your body to run on a different source of fuel. Namely, your body fat.

To replace the calories he used to get via carbohydrates, Tebow relies on high-fat foods like avocados. He says he averages four avocados each day.

That's roughly 1,300 calories a day purely from avocados!

The diet seems to be paying off.

All things considered, Tebow had a solid 2018 season with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

In 84 games, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner hit .273 with 6 home runs, 14 doubles and 36 RBIs.
