Annual Endorsement Earnings: $47 million

When you have 322 million social media followers, companies are going to recognize your ability to be a fantastic platform from which to sell products.

Cristiano Ronaldo has a lifetime deal with Nike (joining the exclusive club that only includes LeBron James and Michael Jordan) that will see him earn an estimated $1 billion.

In addition to his deal with Nike, partnerships with Herbalife, EA Sports and American Tourister help him earn an annual $47 million in endorsements. He also owns his own CR7 products which includes clothes, shoes and fragrances.

Endorsements are a big reason why Forbes ranked Ronaldo as the third highest-paid athlete in the world.

At 36 years old, Ronaldo still packs plenty of soccer star power, and his endorsement potential is still on the rise. Ronaldo left Real Madrid this year to play with Juventus. It didn't take long for retailers to sell out of his jersey.

According to CNBC, Juventus sold over $60 million worth of Ronaldo jerseys in just a single day.
