If you know the name Danario Alexander, it's probably because you picked him up on your fantasy waiver wire after the receiver registered seven touchdowns in 10 games with the San Diego Chargers in 2012. What you probably don't know is that Alexander, a graduate of the University of Missouri, once beat out Jeremy Maclin, one of Mizzou's most prolific wide receivers, for the school's no. 1 receiver spot in 2007. You're also probably unaware that during his senior season in 2009, Alexander caught 113 passes for 1,781 yards and 14 touchdowns, including a 200-yard, three touchdown performance against Kansas State.

Unfortunately, Alexander's body has kept him from true greatness. Each time he seems poised to take off, he suffers a season-ending injury. He experienced multiple injuries to his left knee in college, then pulled his hamstring and got cut by the St. Louis Rams in 2011. He broke out with the Chargers in 2012, only to tear his ACL during training camp this past August. When healthy, Alexander can be one of the best wide receivers in football. We now must wait until 2014 to see if the former college star wideout can light up the NFL for an entire season.
