Battlefield 4 DLC Dragon's Teeth Coming

Electronic Arts got ahead of themselves last week and leaked the release date for Battlefield 4's "Dragon's Teeth" DLC via their Origin Twitter account. The add-on will be released July 15 for Battlefield 4 Premium members and July 29 for everyone else.

The pack will introduce a new multiplayer mode called Chain Link and four new maps: Lumphini Garden, Pearl Market, Propaganda and Sunken Dragon. Gamers will also get 10 new assignments and five new weapons, including the remotely operated ground vehicle R.A.W.R.

Like the others, "Dragon's Teeth" will be free of charge to Premium members. Others can purchase it for $15.

Zelda Wii U Will Be Big, But Not "Open World"

During Nintendo's annual shareholders meeting, Zelda creator Shigeru Myamoto backed away from describing the upcoming title as "open world." He acknowledged the company used the term during the recent E3 conference, but said they did so only because consumers are familiar with the word and it accurately describes the scope. "I prefer not to use the generally used term 'open world' when developing software, but we used this term [at E3] in order to make it easier for consumers to understand," explained Myamoto. "This term means that there is a large world in which players can do numerous things daily."

DualShock 4 Controllers Can Now Be Used Wirelessly on PS3

With a recent PS3 firmware update, Sony introduced wireless support for its DualShock 4 controller. Previously, gamers could use the PS4 controller on the older console via the USB cord, but now you can sync it up via Bluetooth.

The switch may not be worth the trouble. When connected to the PS3, it links as a generic controller, so players won't have access to features like the touchpad. Also, the controller may not be compatible with every game, and syncing the gamepad with the PS3 will de-sync it from the PS4, so you'll have to reconnect it every time.

Deep Silver Announces Escape Dead Island

Deep Silver has announced plans to release a new Dead Island title. Escape Dead Island will arrive in the latter half of this year for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It will retail for $39.99.

The title will stray from the franchise's zombie survival genre to become a third-person single-player survival mystery. It will focus on the causes of the zombie outbreak. Timeline-wise, it will fall between Dead Island and Dead Island 2.

If you pre-order the game through GameStop, you will get access to the Dead Island 2 beta. Dead Island 2 will launch in spring 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
