Baylor's Rico Gathers Hits Buzzer-Beating 3, Chest Bumps Fan Into Oblivion

This video shows that it could be dangerous to celebrate with a man after he hits the first 3-pointer of his career.

Rico Gathers

Rico Gathers had never hit a 3-pointer. In his four-year career, the Baylor forward had never even attempted one, spending most of his time driving the lane or camping out down low. But as the saying goes, there's a time and a place for everything.

Taking on No. 2-ranked Kansas on Tuesday night, Gathers caught a long inbounds pass with 1.9 seconds left in the first half and immediately launched a 3 from the left corner. He leaned back and began sauntering back to the other side of the court as he watched his shot splash through the net as the buzzer went off. The saunter turned into a full-out run.

Gathers was so hyped about his first career 3, that on the way to the locker room he chest bumped a large fan, who was hanging around outside the tunnel. Gathers hit the man with so much force, he had to reach out and grab him to keep him from falling to the ground.
