Activision has confirmed that this year's Call of Duty title will be an installment in the Black Ops series. A a full trailer won't arrive until April 26, but we have a short teaser clip to whet our appetite. Check it out below!
According to reports, digging into the source code of the official Call of Duty website reveals a few nuggets of information about what gamers can expect in Black Ops 3. Players will be headed into the future once again, where technology is being used to level the playing field, and "cutting-edge military robotics define warfare."
However, more is at stake. People struggle to strike a balance between their own humanity and the "technology we created to stay ahead." Plot-wise, it's well-trodden territory. It'll be interesting to see if and how the game sets itself apart from its predecessors. Zombies will return to the title as a game mode, in addition to a campaign and multiplayer modes.
Based on the geographical coordinates that pop up in the short clip, there's a good chance we'll return to Singapore (and maybe even to the Keppel Terminal we visited in 2012's Black Ops II) and make at least one pit stop in Cairo.
The first person shooter, which is being developed by Treyarch Studios, is expected to arrive for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, but there's also a hint that it could also be coming to Wii U. IGN reports that registered users can link their Nintendo Network ID on the official CoD website.
