Johnny Cueto Won\'t Get His Silver Slugger Bonus

Johnny Cueto is one of baseball's most reliable starting pitchers, having compiled a 3.29 career ERA to date. But when the San Franciso Giants signed Cueto to a 6-year, $130 million deal in 2016, they included a performance bonus contingent upon his hitting prowess.

If Cueto somehow wins a Silver Slugger award during his time with the Giants, he'll instantly be paid a $50,000 bonus. We feel comfortable assuming Cueto will never see that cash, since he's a lifetime .104 hitter who has recorded exactly one extra-base hit in his entire career.
