Fuel Up Before Big Games

The last thing an athlete should do before a big game is pound down a fatty, calorie-filled meal. There's no way the body can digest that much food and fat before exerting force and playing a high level sport, like basketball.

Pre-game meals have certain nutritional requirements. Athletes should take in some carbs and protein, ensuring they have the energy to power through the competition. But some choices are better than others, and not all pre-game snacks are created equal.
