James Harden's first official signature shoe, which came on the heels of his mammoth deal with adidas in 2015, has been one of the most popular models of the 2016-2017 NBA season. In fact, this particular writer counts the Harden Vol. 1 as one of the best debut signature sneakers to come out in a long time.
My opinion is partly based on the superb colorways that have draped each successive model. From the initial black, red and white to the outstanding Black History Month theme to the wavy version Harden wore during the NBA All-Star Game, the perfect choice of colors has only boosted the shoe's popularity.
Adidas's latest take on Harden's kicks is no different. Paying homage to Harden's alma mater, Arizona State University, the Harden Vol. 1 "Fear the Fork" is set to drop on March 4. The shoe features a black upper offset by gold coloring on the elongated toe box. Harden's logo, covered in gold, sits up against the shoe's black tongue.
Harden is by far the most successful NBA player to come out of ASU. Other notable names to make it out of the desert and into the league are Byron Scott, Fat Lever, Lionel Hollins and Eddie House.
