Nike Zoom Kobe VII Invisibility Cloak Preview
Did Nike change the name of the Zoom Kobe VII to "Invisibility Cloak" to create buzz? Perhaps the folks at Nike made the last-minute name change because they're huge Harry Potter fans. Regardless, we love both the shoe's name and its color-shifting look.
The sneaker's previous nickname, "Iridescent," was more descriptive of its turquoise-purple sheen, but it did not produce jokes about vanquishing He Who Must Not Be Named every time its owner made a basket. Although the new Kobe VII won't make wearers invisible, it does feature a unique color-shifting upper that changes from purple to turquoise in the right light. Check out the new look in the pictures below.
Want to try out the Invisibility Cloak on the court? You won't have to wait long. The shoe is set to drop in select stores on Feb. 18 for $140. Or check out other innovative Kobe VII colorways, like the Kung Fu-inspired Year of the Dragon or the All-Star Kobe VII featuring a supernova design.
