New York Giants Linebacker Mark Herzlich didn't hear his name called on draft day, so he fought his way onto a roster with tough workouts that earned praise from coaches and made him a better athlete.

But perhaps the secret of his success wasn't what happened in the weight room, but what he did outside of it.

"I take the eating part [of training] just as seriously as the lifting part," Herzlich said.

One of his go-to meals: fish tacos. A lean protein source, fish is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce muscle soreness so Herzlich can recover faster. Omega-3s also support joint and muscle function.
