New Red Sox Signee Rusney Castillo Is Here to Save Baseball

The Boston Red Sox announced the signing of Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo to a six-year, $72.5 million dollar contract.

The Boston Red Sox have announced the signing of sensational 27-year-old Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo to a six-year, $72.5 million dollar contract.

Castillo will join fellow Cuban baseball standouts Yasiel Puig, Yoenis Céspedes and Jose Abreu in the MLB, hoping to duplicate their incredible success.

Castillo hit a solid .315 with a .380 on-base percentage during his Cuban league career, but the coolest part about him is that he signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports agency, putting him in the company of elite athletes such as Robinson Cano, Victor Cruz and Kevin Durant.

Baseball isn't drawing the attendance numbers it used to. Many fans complain that the games are too slow and boring. But exciting new players like Puig and Céspedes are bringing welcome jolts of talent, fun and energy to the national pastime.

Castillo looks jacked and super-athletic, and his highlight video, set to Jay Z of course, is far from boring. Check out his lightning fast 6.39 60-Yard Dash, incredible arm and power to all fields.
