View With Your Crew: ‘Snitch’
Dwayne Johnson stars in the fast-paced action flick, Snitch, which is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 22. Johnson plays John Matthews, a gutsy patriarch hell-bent on rescuing his teenage son Jason from an unjust prison term.
After being “wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime,” Jason is sentenced to 10 years in prison. Willing to put everything on the line for Jason, Matthews strikes a deal with the U.S. Attorney General, played by Susan Sarandon. He must go on a dangerous undercover mission in an attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel and “serve up a senior drug dealer” in exchange for a reduction in Jason’s prison sentence. To add more pressure to his wild mission, Matthews must also consider the safety of his daughter and wife.
Inspired by true events, this thriller gives viewers an inside look at the international drug trafficking market, where money is the only thing of value and evil is the dominant force. Dwyane Johnson’s passionate performance appears to have all the necessary ingredients to renew enthusiasm in the action genre.
The Summit Entertainment film is directed by Ric Roman Waugh of Felon, and features a cast that includes Michael Kenneth Williams, Benjamin Bratt, Jon Bernthal, Barry Pepper and Melina Kanakaredes.
Snitch is rated PG-13 for drugs and violence. Check out the trailer below.
