"The Dark Knight Rises" Teaser Trailer Released
The Dark Knight Rises [Warner Bros. Pictures]
Release Date: July 20, 2012
Starring: Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Rating: Not yet rated
The latest Batman series has been a favorite with our STACKletes, so we decided to share the first teaser trailer for the epic conclusion to director Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.
The voice of Henri Ducard, Liam Neeson’s character from the first film, Batman Begins, is immediately recognizable. It was originally believed that Ducard died after Batman derailed his train in one of the final scenes. Rumor has it that he will return in flashbacks, but given the mysterious existence of his mentor, Ra’s al Ghul [who was killed early in the first film], we wonder whether Neeson has a larger role. [It’s interesting that he’s rumored to be playing Ra’s al Ghul, not Henri Ducard, in The Dark Knight Rises.]
The teaser introduces one of the film’s major villains, Bane, played by Tom Hardy, a hulking figure with a menacing mask covering his face. Another villain, Catwoman, is played by Anne Hathaway.
Scheduled for release exactly one year from now, July 20, 2012, The Dark Knight Rises will no doubt have a midnight showing and be available on IMAX screens. Since Nolan had previously stated he wouldn’t do another Batman movie unless it could top The Dark Knight, we recommend you keep an eye out for the finale.
