Halfway through his leg of the 4x400m relay at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Team USA sprinter Manteo Mitchell heard a crack in his leg. Unfazed by the pain, he finished his portion with a split of 46.1 seconds. Afterwards, Mitchell found out that his left fibula was broken, ending his Olympic season. Team USA went on to win silver in the finals with Mitchell's replacement, but Mitchell shares the silver because of his gutsy effort.
