Virginia Tech's Isaiah Ford Made a Ridiculous Bobbling Catch During His Historic Night

Isaiah Ford has more TD catches than anyone in Virginia Tech history.

While you were watching NFL Football and NBA basketball Thursday night, you missed history being made in the college football world. The Virginia Tech Hokies beat the Pittsburgh Panthers in a shootout, 39-36, behind an incredible performance by Hokies receiver Isaiah Ford.

Ford had 10 catches, 143 yards and a touchdown, which made the 6-foot-2, 195-pound junior the all-time leader in receiving touchdowns in Virginia Tech history, topping Antonio Freeman's mark set from 1991-94. This season, Ford has six touchdowns in seven games—and 23 for his career. The latest touchdown came in the fourth quarter and put Virginia Tech up 10.

Though making Hokie history was an incredible feat for Ford, it's not even the best thing he did last night. The play doesn't show up in the stat sheet,  but the bobbling catch he made in the second quarter was truly amazing. Attempting to catch a jump ball, the defensive back hit the ball, making it roll on top of Ford and pop up in the air between the players before landing on the Pitt defender's chest, from where Ford grabbed it and held on for dear life. It may be the best catch of this football season.
