Thon Maker is not your typical 7-foot tall high school player. Watch and marvel at his size and athleticism.
Thon Maker is a 17-year-old, 7-foot-1 athletic specimen playing for the Athletic Institute in Orangeville, Ontario. He has a wingspan of 7-feet-2 inches, and he's currently averaging 32 points a game. If that sounds terrifying, it's because it is.
The Sudanese-born Maker isn't like most other 7-foot high school kids, who often struggle to grow into their bodies or stumble over their own feet as the run down the court. In the clip above, Maker executes a crossover dribble on his defender at the top of the key before zipping a pass to his teammate in the post. He then sprints toward the hoop and slams home the missed bucket. There's nothing a typical high school player can do about any of this. Trying to stop someone with Maker's size and athleticism is nearly impossible. College scouts are drooling.
