WATCH: Bulls' Doug McDermott's Textbook Tackle of Heat's Hassan Whiteside, Draws Flagrant Foul

This is basketball, remember, Doug?

Bulls and Heat

Thursday night against the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls guard Doug McDermott forgot he was playing basketball when he bear-hugged Heat center Hassan Whiteside and took him to the floor.

These two teams really don't like each other in a rivalry that dates back to the late 90s. If you watched the physical play preceding the tackle, the two teams were beating the crap out of each other before the flagrant foul call on McDermott. Perhaps in McDermott's mind, he one-upped Whiteside with the takedown. He's lucky he wasn't tossed out of the game.

Actually, one commentator called it a routine play with McDermott simply "wrapping up" his opponent to prevent a dunk and falling to the floor because they lost their balance. Watch the clip and form your own opinion.

The Heat won, 106-98.
