WOW: A McDonald's Kale Salad Has More Calories Than a Double Big Mac

Just because a salad has kale in it does not make it a healthy choice.

When you 're on the road and need food in a hurry, but want something healthier than a cheeseburger and fries, you often order a salad. You can usually find a McDonald's around every corner, and they continued their health kick by adding kale to some menus, so why not order a kale salad?

Because not all of their kale salads are as healthy as you might think. The kale movement at McDonald's has not yet swept the U.S., but their stores in Canada make a few kale salads available, and one of them has more calories than a Double Big Mac.

The salad is called "Keep Calm, Caesar On" chicken salad. The ingredients include lettuce, baby kale, bacon, parmesan petals, garlic croutons and your choice of chicken. According to the Canadian News, if you choose the crispy chicken and add the caesar dressing that comes with it, you are looking at a whopping 730 calories, 53 grams of fat and 1,400 milligrams of salt.

The Double Big Mac offered at McDonald's contains 680 calories, 38 grams of fat, and 1,340 milligrams of salt.

The next time you need some healthy quick food, make sure to check the nutritional info on your salad before you chow down.
