Wayne Phillips

Wayne Phillips, Ph.D., FACSM, is the chief science officer at MuscleSound, a company that tracks glycogen and muscle composition using ultrasound technology in order to maximize athletic performance. Dr. Phillips holds a Master of Science in physical education and sports science from Loughborough University in the U.K. and a doctorate in exercise and wellness from Arizona State University. A professor emeritus at Arizona State, he is also a former post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University Center for Research in Disease Prevention and a current fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Phillips is an international consultant, speaker and author in the fields of strength and aging, wellness and health-related behavior change. He specializes in advocacy, design and development of best practices and strength-based wellness programs. His post-doctoral behavior research served as a basis for the development of the Stanford Healthy Lifestyle Program and the Stanford Health and Lifestyle Assessment. These evidence-based approaches have been proven highly effective in positively impacting and changing behaviors and lifestyles. Dr. Philips has also designed and developed research programs for fitness and wellness companies such as ActiveRx and TriVita.
