The Glute Ham Raise is an exercise Steven Jackson performs to help eliminate muscle imbalances in the lower body. Athletes who are quad-dominant are at greater risk for suffering a lower-body injury, such as a hamstring pull. By performing the Glute Ham Raise for three sets of six reps, Jackson is improving hamstring strength to help with injury prevention. The strength that Jackson develops with the Glute Ham Raise also helps him get faster.
