Behind the Highlights: Mike Green's Clutch Playoff Goals
In the fourth episode of STACK's Behind the Highlights video series, NHL All-Star defenseman Mike Green breaks down his very first playoff game during which he single-handidly brought the Washington Capitals back from a two-goal deficit with two explosive scores.
Mike explains how his pre-game eating and in-game hydration helped him perform well late in the game. Before drinking Gatorade during games, Mike would often feel weak and dizzy out on the ice. He looks for a light, but filling pre-game meal to provide him with enough energy without making him feel heavy.
Additionally, Mike credits his intense strength training regimen for this playoff success. He performs exercises that tax his endurance while also developing strength to maintain power and performance all game long.
Perform the following exercises to develop your own late-game heroics:
-Bear Mountain
-Explosive Keiser Rotations
-Sled Pushes
