video series, Roy Hibbert, 7'2" center for the Indiana Pacers, breaks down his 19 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks in Game 3 of the 2011 NBA Playoffs against the Miami Heat.
Roy discusses how heavy lifts, like Squats and Trap Bar Deadlifts, helped him develop the lower-body power and strength he used to score points and grab rebounds against the likes of Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. Additionally, Roy explains how he develops single-leg balance, core stability and hip explosion with other supplemental exercises so that he can maintain balance when he fights for position near the hoop.

Heading into the 2011 NBA season, Roy hired a nutritionist and radically changed up his eating habits. He went from eating Skittles and nachos before games to focusing on eating healthy forms of carbohydrates for energy. Roy now eats whole grains, complex carbs and lean sources of protein at each meal and focuses on hydrating throughout the entire duration of a game.
Roy saw the benefits of this nutrition change almost immediately. He had more energy during workouts, practices and games and started to see his strength levels increase, especially in the Bench Press. Additionally, he noticed a drastic loss of bodyfat as he added more muscle.
