About the Video
Tobin Heath of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team demonstrates how she gets her legs strong for the pitch by performing her Lower-Body Circuit, which consists of four key leg-strengthening exercises:
-Box Squats
-Step-Ups
-Lunges
-Box Jumps
The combination of these exercises ensures that Tobin's glutes, quads, hamstrings and hips are strong and explosive so that she can sprint faster and maintain her performance throughout the entire game. She performs 4-6 reps of each of these exercises without resting. The constant nature of the training keeps her heartrate elevated throughout, which in turn improves her endurance and conditioning.
Watch how Tobin used this late-game endurance to execute a double nutmeg through the legs of two Canadian defenders in the eighth episode of our Behind the Highlights video series.
