About the Video
At Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, NFL quarterback Eli Manning sat down to discuss his off-season training, how he uses Gatorade to gain an advantage on the field, and wanting to be in-shape for training camp.
Manning said that mid-February would be the time when he would get back into his lifting and conditioning regiment, as well as starting to throw the football again. This coincides with eating right so he can get the most out of those workouts.
Manning described a typical in-season meal for him as some combination of chicken, pasta, green beans, salad, carrots and fruits so that he can get a mix of the all nutrients (carbs, proteins, etc.) that he needs to play at a peak level.
Having been a Gatorade athlete for eight years, Manning talks about how Gatorade has evolved from just replenishing your electrolytes to supplementing your workout with the array of products they produce.
Finally, Manning stresses the importance of arriving to training camp in shape so he can start throwing routes to his wide receivers and tight ends and get his younger guys up to speed.
