Shawn Crawford: In high school I played baseball, basketball, ran track and I played football. It had a lot to do with where I am today but I don't look at it like that. I was just doing what I do. You know how it is, you just have fun. Your friends doing it, you do it. Something things your good at, somet things you're not. It just so happens that running happened to be one of my natural talents and it took me the farthest.
I didn't realize I had a future in track and field till my senior year of college and got recruited, picked up agents, signed a shoe contract, and it became a way of life for me. And then it paid the bills and it became my career. Then that's when I had a future in it. But other than that I was just running, taking the talent that god blessed me with and using it to get where I happen to be in life.
