Time Grover: One of the issues that he had last year was tightness in the hips, and in the IT band and in the
Glute area. So what I wanted him to do was while he was simulating the jumps, I wanted him to go over to the slide more and make sure that the hips and the IT band and everything else were staying loose.
It's basically right knee to left elbow, left knee to right elbow. What you really want to do is initially do not go fast, and then when you bring the knee over to the other elbow you really want to try to push it down to get the stretch in there. A lot of people have a tendency to use it as a speed movement, which is fine, but again with all exercises progression is always slow at first. And then after that you go ahead and pick up the speed. You never want to sacrifice form for speed. Sets of reps on the flexibility exercise is anywhere from 20 to 30 per leg.
