Training Core Stability With Da'Quan Bowers
March 31, 2011
To help him win the battle in the trenches, defensive end Da'Quan Bowers performs a Partner Stability Resistance Drill with coaching by Travelle Gaines, director of elite development at Athletes' Performance.
About the Video
Travelle Gaines: So to work on Da'Quan Bowers' stability we put him on the power plate, have him stand in the athletic position, he'll put his hands in front of him, one of our coaches will try to move him around and he has to lock in and engage
everything he has to stop from moving around.
So he started off just on the ground and he moved to stability pads, then he moved to the power plate. The big coaching point, squat back in the quarter squat, stand with your hands directly in front of you and don't let your coach bump you off the power plate.
