Workouts

Elite athletes perform workouts designed to improve their overall athletic performance—strength, speed, conditioning and flexibility. To gain muscle strength, size and power, they perform weightlifting, bodyweight and other resistance-based workouts. To improve speed, agility and quickness, they complete workouts featuring explosive exercises [e.g., Box Jumps], and sprinting and reaction drills. To increase endurance and stamina, they do conditioning workouts—which can also burn fat and help athletes lose unhealthy weight. To reduce risk of injury, increase joint range of motion and improve overall mobility, top athletes perform flexibility workouts [e.g., dynamic and static stretching, yoga]. Learn the workouts that elite athletes regularly perform to reach their peak performance.
