Elite 11 Finalists Rise to the Top of the Nation’s Premier QB Competition
After a three-day competition over the weekend that pitted the 25 best high school quarterbacks in the country against each other in a series of drills and evaluations, this year’s Elite 11 Finals class was announced on Monday morning. The 12 winners will head to Nike’s The Opening camp in Portland on June 28 to battle it out and determine who is truly the best high school QB in the nation. Check out the finalists below.
Trevor Lawrence – Cartersville (Georgia) High School
@CHSHurricaneFB QB and #Clemson commit Trevor Lawrence (@Trevorlawrencee) was Impressive at #Elite11 Finals Friday–#1 ranked 2018 QB pic.twitter.com/x6IyKoH4hR
— Scott Schrader (@Scott_Schrader) June 3, 2017
Lawrence, who’s committed to Clemson, has long held the No. 1 overall ranking for quarterbacks, and his performance at the Elite 11 did nothing to change that. He’s got a huge arm, plays in a pro style offense at his high school and has incredible golden flowing locks to boot.
Justin Fields – Harrison (Georgia) High School
@QBHitList Premium 2018 QB @justnfields #PennState commit, droppin’ dimes here at the @Elite11 Finals #GetOpen @TheOpening pic.twitter.com/446IxsqY2M
— QBHitList.com (@QBHitList) June 4, 2017
Ranked fourth overall in the ESPN 300, Fields, who is headed to Penn State, is the top dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2018
Tanner McKee – Centennial (California) High School

— Damon Sayles (@DamonSayles) February 4, 2017
McKee remains the top uncommitted quarterback in the class of 2018. At 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds and 72 percent completion rate from last season, this pro style passer will be a coup for whatever college ends up reaping the benefits of his abilities.
Jack Tuttle – Mission Hills (California) High School
#GoUtes commit Jack Tuttle smooth going thru the roll out drill at #Elite11, mechanically sound and steady @UteZone pic.twitter.com/xVvlJx86GK
— Blair Angulo (@bangulo) June 3, 2017
Headed to Utah, Tuttle was praised as one of the most accurate passers throughout the weekend at the Elite 11.
Devin Leary – Timber Creek (New Jersey) Regional High School
#NCState QB commit Devin Leary has an electric arm. Been the top passer here at @Elite11 DC: https://t.co/8Y2Gq3hjd9 pic.twitter.com/YXeV38Rg26
— Steve Wiltfong (@SWiltfong247) April 23, 2017
Leary posted the best score during the “Pro Day” section of the Elite 11, in which the QBs ran through a gauntlet of drills designed to emulate what they’ll eventually do when it’s time to work out for NFL teams later in their careers. He’s headed to N.C. State.
Tyler Shough – Hamilton (Arizona) High School
More of Tyler Shough ripping it at @Elite11 LA. Has good film too. Overlooked QB in 2018 when comparing offer lists: https://t.co/uAhpK6bWAL pic.twitter.com/z9VnMSEV3J
— Steve Wiltfong (@SWiltfong247) March 12, 2017
Currently undecided on where he’ll play college ball, the 6-foot-5 Shough is being heavily recruited by schools like Michigan, Alabama and South Carolina.
Cammon Cooper – Lehi (Utah) High School

— Blair Angulo (@bangulo) June 2, 2017
Committed to Washington State, Cooper has earned comparisons to former Boise State passer Kellen Moore for how he throws the football—and his southpaw delivery.
Quincy Patterson – Solorio Academy (Illinois) High School
#VirgniaTech commit Quincy Patterson throwing for @HEROH_ https://t.co/Xel2DZ4p3a pic.twitter.com/5kogDe3IrP
— Gus Ramos (@G1Bound) April 14, 2017
Another dual-threat QB, Patterson is headed to Virginia Tech, where he’ll follow in the footsteps of similar style quarterbacks like Michael Vick and Tyrod Taylor.
Jarren Williams – Central Gwinnett (Georgia) High School
Big week for Jarren Williams (@Jarren2Williams). The top QB target re-committed to Kentucky and had a solid spring game start. pic.twitter.com/Xs47CQXNs7
— Hudl (@Hudl) May 18, 2017
This dual-threat QB is headed to Kentucky, where he’ll bring his quick feet and smooth delivery to Big Blue Nation.
Matt Corral – Long Beach (California) Polytechnic High School
More from future #USC QB Matt Corral (@corral_matt)–Had a really impressive three days at the 2017 #Elite11 & He’s at USC 6/19 #FightOn pic.twitter.com/c5mphwmRyj
— Scott Schrader (@Scott_Schrader) June 5, 2017
Corral, headed to USC, appears to be wise beyond his years with his ability to read defenses and go through his progressions at a high level as he heads into his senior year of high school.
Justin Rogers – Parkway (Louisiana) High School
Look at @LABootleggers Justin Rogers sling it pic.twitter.com/7MvWodSaQh
— MT RecruitTheBoot (@recruittheboot) June 4, 2017
The best quarterback in his class from Louisiana, Rogers is a dual-threat guy whose skills should translate nicely at TCU, where he recently committed.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson – Bishop Gorman (Nevada) High School
#UCLA commit Dorian Thompson-Robinson with some frozen ropes, easily reaching the end zone every possession at #Elite11 7on7 pic.twitter.com/8diaEHlkdy
— Blair Angulo (@bangulo) June 4, 2017
After sitting behind Elite 11 alum Tate Martell for several seasons at Bishop Gorman, Thompson-Robinson will finally get his time to shine as a starter in his senior season before heading off to UCLA.
