2K Sports’ Top Spin 4 Preview
Fresh from a Top Spin 4 preview event, STACK brings you the latest info on 2K Sports’ hottest court game. Top Spin 4 will be released on March 15, and both novices and pros who pick it up will experience new levels of tennis grandeur.
2K’s number one priority in developing the new edition was authenticity. Animations will be more in sync than ever with the swing styles, tendencies and behaviors of the deepest roster of pros to date.
Use the newly-enhanced Player Creator, with dozens of customizable features, and work your tennis athlete up to top-tier status. Your creation can even become a global Top Spin legend with online World Tour Mode.
“We like to use the analogy that [Top Spin 4] is a lot like a fighting game trapped in a tennis game,” says Michael Kelly, associate producer. “Players learn quickly and return shot for shot, just as they would punch for punch in boxing. The game is accessible for newcomers, yet still maintains enough depth in the controls to use the pros’ strategies to attack opponents.”
Other features include the new Practice Area and a revamped Top Spin Academy, showcasing different pro player approaches. Kelly says, “While Rafael Nadal is better at baseline play, Pete Sampras might be really good at the net, so we teach you how to learn and master those different styles.”
Top Spin 4 will be available March 15 for PS3 [3D], Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360. Check out the preview below:
