WATCH: 300-Pound NFL Prospect Jihad Ward Throws Down a Ridiculous Reverse Dunk
In two seasons at Illinois, defensive lineman Jihad Ward recorded 5 1/2 sacks and 104 tackles. As he readies himself to showcase his skills at the NFL Combine, he might be going about this whole football thing the wrong way. Perhaps he should swap a grass field for the hardwood and take his talents to the NBA instead.
Ward posted this video to his Instagram, in which the 300-pound Philadelphia native dribbles up from the left side of the court and throws down a double-pump reverse dunk. It looks effortless, like he’d been doing it all his life. Standing 6-foot-6 with an enormous wingspan would help anyone’s dunking ability, but Ward’s bulky frame makes the feat seem impossible.
In high school, Ward played wide receiver and safety before he gained weight and switched to defensive end in junior college. Given his level of athleticism on display in this video, don’t be surprised if Ward posts eye-popping numbers at the Combine.
