A Day in the Life of UFC Welterweight Tyron Woodley
After 60 minutes of focused mitt training and shadow boxing at the ATT Evolution gym just outside St. Louis, Tyron “The Chosen One” Woodley stood alone in the boxing ring, his arms raised in victory.
It was an imagined moment of triumph, which Woodley intends to make into a reality when he defeats Jake Shields at UFC 161 in Winnipeg this Saturday, June 15.
“I always see myself at the top,” Woodley later explained about the visualization tactic he deploys after every MMA boxing and sparring session. (Check out Woodley’s explosive MMA circuit training routine.)
A win against the veteran fighter Shields would certainly elevate Woodley to the top of the UFC welterweight division. He says, “Jake Shields is the last of the Mohicans, and I’m going to give him his pink slip.”
See all that goes into a day’s work for the self-proclaimed “New School Ninja,” and watch the Day in the Life video featuring Woodley at the top of this post.
